History of Hungary
The Finno-Ugric people, also called Magyars, began the Kingdom of Hungary. These people also, during the 9th century, lived near the Danube River. The origins of Hungary date back to 670, at the time while other people came to conquer other lands and civilizations. Conquerors such as Azars, Slavs and Charlemagne fought in Hungary. Hungarians, originally pagans, adopted Christianity and established a kingdom in cooperation with the Roman Catholic Church.
